Function # 3.2.1: Definitions - Adding exam contents


This chapter will focus on adding, editing and deleting exams and related records.

These tasks can be carried out by both the Site Administrator as well as the Super administrator. The user must first sign in, using the relevant user name and password to carry out the functions.

Adding course details:

The user can add exams and related records. When adding exams it MUST be done in an order. First the exam details must be entered, then the subject details, tutorial details and finally the module details.

#1. Select the 'Course Details' link from the tree menu on the left side.

#2. Click the 'Add Course' button in the subsequent page.

#3. Enter the relevant course details and click the 'Save' button.

Note: The user can enter in a relevant code, as the course code, according to his/her requirements.

Adding subject details:

#1. Select the 'Subject Details' link from the tree menu.

#2. Select the required course name from the drop down menu and click 'Search'.

#3. Since there are no records initially, a default error message will be displayed. Click on the 'Add Subject' button, in order to add subject information.

#4. Choose the required course name from the drop down menu and enter the relevant details. Click 'Save' after entering the details.

Adding tutorial details:

#1. Select the 'Tutorial Details' link from the tree menu.

#2. Select the relevant course name and the subject name from the drop down menus. Then click on the 'Search' button.

#3. A default error message will be displayed as there are no records. Click on the 'Add Tutorial' button, to enter details.

#4. Select the relevant subject name from the drop down menu.Enter the required details and click 'Save'.

Adding module details:

#1. Select 'Module Details' from the tree menu.

#2. Select the relevant course, subject and tutorial name from the drop down menus and click 'Search'.

#3. Click on the 'Add Module' button to enter details. As there are no records initially, a default error message will be displayed.

#4. Select the relevant tutorial name and enter the rest of the details. Click 'Save' in order to complete the process.

 

Function # 3.2.1.1 - Setting Exams:


Exams are set for subjects, tutorials as well as modules.

Note: This help file, will only be explaining how to set exams for a subject, as these same steps should be followed when setting exams for tutorials and modules as well.

#1. Select 'Subject Details' from the tree menu.

    

#2. Select the relevant course name fro the drop down menu and click 'Search'.

    

#3. Select the required subject and click on the 'Exam' link for that particular subject.

    

#4. As there are no records, a default error message will appear. Click on 'Add Exam' to set an exam.

    

#5. Add the relevant details and click 'Save'.

Special Note: The database should have a higher number of questions than what the user specifies when setting exams. For example, if the user specifies that the number of final qestions is 20, the databse should have a minimum of 20 questions in order for the student to sit for the exam.
